Worked example — MCAT, cardio physio

Q: Why does aortic stenosis cause a systolic murmur, not diastolic?

Not "murmurs = valve problems" — too vague to predict timing.
Not memorized association — doesn't transfer to a new valve lesion.
Turbulent flow happens when blood is forced through a narrowed opening — that's ejection, which is systole. Diastole would need a narrowed inflow path instead.
